On Thursday, December 2, 2021, a Large scale Accident Exercise (AMA) took place at the Naval Fortress Skaramaga under coordination of the Safety Control Center (KEAP) of the KANELLOPOULOS Naval Base and with the coordinating role of Commander Ioannis P. .

The Exercise was attended by representatives of the Navy (PN), the Mobile Unit of Disaster Management (206 PAV / KOMAK) of the Hellenic Air Force, the Elite Team Special Missions of Greece (EPOMEA), the Greek Police Force ( ELAS), the Fire Brigade (PS) and the National Center for Immediate Assistance (EKAB / KEPY). Additionaly, observers from the General Secretariat for Civil Protection (GGPP) and the Attica Region participated.

EPOMEA, with a force of 25 volunteers and the collected force of the rescue vehicle "Hephaestus" and the Mobile Medical Unit provided by LIONS, operated in five different search and rescue scenarios.

The rescue dogs Gizmo and Sugar of EPOMEA also participated in the exercise. 

Before the start of the exercise, K.OM.AK. set up a pre-hospital treatment center near the area where the incidents had been reported, which was manned by the volunteers, nurses and doctors of EPOMEA participated.

EPOMEA expresses a big THANK YOU to the Navy and the Air Force and the department of K.OM.AK. for the trust they have shown us and the opportunity to assist government agencies in such an important exercise.
